Antigua & Barbuda, Harbour and Pink Sand
A Georgian naval dockyard still in use, a Sunday party on a hilltop, and a beach the colour of rosé.

Antigua claims 365 beaches and the number is roughly honest. It also has the only working Georgian naval dockyard in the world, a UNESCO site where Nelson was stationed, and a Sunday evening party on the hill above it that's been running for forty years. Then there's Barbuda, an hour away, barely inhabited, with a beach of genuinely pink sand.

Why this one
Worth the flight.
- Nelson's Dockyard, a Georgian naval base still repairing yachts 300 years on
- Shirley Heights on a Sunday, steel pan, barbecue, and the harbour below at sunset
- Barbuda's pink sand beach, seventeen miles long and essentially empty
- The frigate bird colony at Codrington Lagoon, one of the largest anywhere
- Half Moon Bay on the Atlantic side, a perfect crescent with real waves
Best months are December, January, February, March, April, May. Expect around $1,500–2,800 per person, excluding flights for the whole 5 days, excluding flights. The guide breaks that into stay, food, activities and transport so you can see where it goes.
How this stays honest
Checked August 2026
Prices, opening days and entry rules drift, and no written guide can outrun that. So costs are always ranges rather than quotes, every plan carries the date it was last checked, and the last page is six things to confirm yourself before you book anything.
I take no commission from any hotel or operator. You book everything yourself, in your own name, at the price you can see.
