Who you're dealing with

Ian Travel ("I", "me") is an independent travel planning service. You can reach a human, me, at ianalsopp@gmail.com.

What I sell, and what I don't

I sell travel plans. I do not sell travel. This distinction matters, so here it is plainly:

• I never take custody of money intended for an airline, hotel, tour operator or any other supplier.
• I never act as agent for any supplier, and I don't resell anyone's inventory.
• I take no commission, kickback or referral fee from anyone I recommend.
• Every booking is made by you, in your own name, directly with the supplier.

You remain the supplier's customer throughout. If a flight is cancelled, a hotel loses your reservation, or a tour doesn't run, your rights are against that supplier. I have no ability to act on your behalf.

Pre-made itineraries

Itineraries cost $9.99 each and are delivered as an instant PDF download. Payment is handled by Stripe; I never see or store your card details.

Buying one gives you a personal licence to use the plan for your own travel and to share it with the people travelling with you. You may not resell it, republish it, post it publicly, or present it as your own work.

Custom travel planning

Custom planning costs $99 per trip. Submitting a brief costs nothing and commits you to nothing. I'll respond within one working day, and payment is only requested if we both agree the trip is one I can plan properly.

One round of revisions is included. Delivery is normally five to seven days from the point the brief is agreed and paid.

Accuracy, and its limits

Plans are researched carefully and each one shows the date it was last checked. But prices change, restaurants close, boats don't run in bad weather, and entry rules change without much warning.

All costs are estimates and ranges, never quotes. Every plan includes a list of things to confirm yourself before you travel, and you are responsible for doing so. I can't be liable for a business having closed, a price having risen, or an activity being unavailable on the day.

Your responsibilities

• Passports, visas and entry requirements. Check these yourself with the relevant authority.
• Travel insurance, strongly recommended, and entirely your decision.
• Vaccinations and health advice. Take it from a medical professional, not from me.
• Assessing your own fitness and comfort for any activity in a plan.

Liability

I provide planning and information. To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability in connection with anything I sell is limited to the amount you paid for it. I am not liable for travel costs, missed connections, cancelled bookings, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

I may update these terms. The version in force is whichever was published on the day you bought. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
